Sheila joined Q5 in June 2019 as Head of the Public Sector. With a wealth of experience in different government departments and in media companies, Sheila brings a creative, collaborative, and authentic approach to solving complex issues with multiple stakeholders. Before joining Q5, Sheila worked in the Cabinet Office in the Government Digital Service where she led the review of the government’s own website GOV.UK.
For most of her career Sheila worked at the Guardian, latterly as Executive Editor and Director of Transformation. She ran the editorial budget, printing sites and the Enterprise Technology department. During her tenure she led the move to a new building complete with new structures, new systems, and new ways of working. She designed and led the cross-company culture change plan which moved the organisation from a traditional paper-first UK newspaper to an award-winning global digital organisation.
In addition, Sheila is a non-executive director of a housing association and the chair of a multi-academy trust. Spending time with her growing family is a priority and usually involves enjoying long Sunday lunches in the garden or walks through the Hackney Marshes.
