Environmental, Social and Governance

Since our inception in 2009, Q5 have been committed to ensuring that our business can also deliver wider social, economic and environmental benefits. Given the wide range of areas we could potentially focus on, we frame our ESG actions using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs). As a globally recognised and well understood framework, this helps us target those areas where we at Q5 can truly make progress against achieving a better and more sustainable future for all. We have a range of activities, both core to our business and through our charitable initiatives that are targeted at making progress against the SDGs.

Delivered through:

  • Carbon neutral in 2022
  • Diversity & Inclusion
  • Employee welfare
  • Pop Up Consulting
  • Q5 Foundation
  • Young Panel and University Placements

A number of goals are central to how we operate as a business:

Our Journey to Net-Zero

At Q5 we understand the scale and speed with which we as individuals, businesses and countries need to change and reduce our impact on the planet. We believe that this is also an opportunity to lead better, healthier lives while we each fulfil our responsibility to reduce our impact and make change, whatever the size, shape or type of organisation. As such we have begun our journey to becoming Net-Zero. We will do this by making better decisions to reduce our emissions and secondly by offsetting through increasingly durable carbon removal schemes. We took the first steps to achieving this goal by measuring our carbon emissions and becoming Carbon Neutral in 2022 and look forward to continuing toward Net-Zero.

Diversity and Inclusion

We are passionate about improving our processes to increase diversity and creating an environment of inclusion. We believe in a ‘whole system’ approach to creating an inclusive and diverse organisation. This means looking at levers of change and effectiveness in our organisation through a D&I lens – exploring and addressing where there are biases, barriers and enablers. In order to ensure that we ‘walk the talk’ we ran a D&I survey internally, which led to the creation of our D&I framework to clarify what D&I means in our organisation and drive action.

Employee welfare

At Q5 we are committed to far more than just our mandatory legal obligations for the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees. We want to infuse wellbeing into the actual DNA of our organisation and have pledged to ensure that we are:

  • Maintaining psychological and physical health
  • Discovering and supporting health promotion initiatives
  • Communicating and training our people on health issues
  • Offering a range of support for the maintenance of mental health and psychological safety
  • Building a ‘resilient’ workforce, which creates a workforce that thrives and can adapt and respond more effectively to the challenges confronting them
  • Demonstrating ‘inclusive leadership’
