The Challenge

WBA had recently set up a new cross-divisional organisation to give a competitive advantage through its brands, commercial expertise and customer insight. However, there remained a gap in how leaders role modelled the expected behaviours and empowered their people. Q5 were invited to develop a new suite of global development programmes that would help new and established leaders to recognise their responsibilities in achieving the organisation’s vision.

Our Approach

  • We worked with business partners and stakeholders to understand their requirements and organised these into clear and connected learning objectives and design principles.
  • We collaborated extensively with the core Learning and Development team to develop the programmes to include a blend of reflective pre-work, 1-to-1 coaching, experiential learning workshops, peer support and challenge, and application to real business projects.
  • In delivery, we put the participants at the centre of the learning journey – both through the sequence of activities, and the workshop experience itself.

Key Outcomes

  • The programmes have been delivered across the UK, US and Hong Kong and are in their third year of delivery. By iteratively refreshing the content, the programmes have remained at the core of leaders’ development.
